In order to use load balancing and smart charging, you must have the P1 port of your digital meter activated by your grid operator.
How do I find out who my grid operator is?
In Flanders, your grid operator is always Fluvius and in Brussels, it is always Sibelga.
Do you live in Wallonia and are you not sure who your grid operator is?
You can easily check this here using your postcode.
How can I see if my P1 port is already active?
You can always check the display of your digital electricity meter to see if your P1 port is activated. Depending on the type of meter, an arrow will appear above 'P1' or 'GP'.
If your P1 port has been successfully activated, an arrow will appear, if there is no arrow above it, it means that your P1 port has not yet been activated.
How to activate?
The procedure for activating the P1 port of your digital meter differs depending on your grid operator:
Fluvius : Activate the P1 port of your digital meter via My Fluvius . For more information, you can here . Opening your P1 port is free
Sibelga : The P1 port of your digital meter is open by default, so you don't have to do anything yourself.
Ores : Opening your P1 port is free when installing your digital meter. If you want to open your P1 port later, Ores will charge an additional fee of €26. More information can be found here .
It can take up to 72 hours after submitting your request before the P1 port is active. So make sure to submit your request well before your home charger is installed.
