How Does Blossom Smart Charging Work?
Installation of the Technology
We place a dongle on the P1 port of your smart meter.
This dongle sends the data from your smart meter to our cloud.
Energy Consumption MonitoringThis allows us to gain insights into your household energy consumption and any surplus production from solar panels.
Optimized ChargingUsing these data combined with your car’s charging process, we calculate the most optimal charging capacity for your situation, which we continuously adjust.
Control via the Blossom AppYou can configure how your car charges via the Blossom app. The app also provides better insights into your energy consumption.
The Four Charging Modes Offered by Blossom
Standard Mode
This mode focuses on minimizing costs by reducing the impact on the capacity tariff.
You set the maximum capacity peak, and we monitor your household energy consumption to adjust the charging process accordingly.
Note: The maximum capacity peak is averaged over 15 minutes. This means your car might charge faster initially or charge faster during higher solar production. We continuously adjust to keep your average capacity peak under control.
Maximum Power Mode
If you need to leave quickly or want to charge your car as fast as possible, choose this mode.
The maximum available power is allocated to your car without considering the capacity tariff.
Solar Mode
In Solar Mode, your car is primarily charged using energy from your solar panels.
Charging begins when sufficient solar energy is available and stops when production is insufficient.
A limited amount of power from the grid may also be used temporarily to prevent the charging process from being completely interrupted when solar production dips.
Automatic Mode
This mode is particularly useful if you have a dynamic energy tariff.
Specify when you need your car ready and how many extra kilometers you want to charge.
The mode ensures your car is charged as optimally as possible, considering your preferences and the expected energy prices in the coming hours.
