The Blossom smart charging solution uses a dongle that transmits data from your smart meter to control the charging station.
To install this you will need:
A digital meter, with an active P1 port
The blossom app on your smartphone
Wired internet (UTP) or WiFi signal (2.4GHz) in the vicinity of your smart meter
A power outlet on the smart meter for powering the dongle (see below)
Check P1 port:
Check whether the P1 port on your meter is active. If this is not yet the case, request activation from your grid operator, as described here .
Is your P1 port already in use by another device? No worries, our dongle has a P1 output for looping the P1 signal to another device.
Physical installation of the dongle:
Connect the dongle to the P1 port of your digital meter (under the green flap of your meter) with the supplied cable. Depending on the type of meter, your meter also has an S1 port, so make sure you use the P1 port .
If there was already a cable in your P1 port, you can connect it to the P1 output of the dongle.
Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet and connect it to the dongle (USB-C).
Connecting an additional power supply is not strictly necessary, but is strongly recommended to establish a stable connection . Depending on your type of smart meter, the P1 port may not provide enough power to allow the dongle to work.

you also use the p1 output of the dongle
the wifi signal is not strong or unstable
Wifi or UTP?
The dongle can be connected to the internet via both UTP and WiFi.
If possible, it is recommended to connect the dongle via UTP, use a UTP cable (included) to connect the dongle to the internet.
Activation of smart charging
Make sure you have the Blossom app installed on your smartphone, and that bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. We use bluetooth for programming the dongle.
In the app, the status of your smart charging activation is displayed on the home screen. If you do not have smart charging activated yet, and this screen is missing, please contact us.

Special cases:
I have another device that uses the P1 port.
Our dongle has a loop-through function for the P1 port. After the dongle is configured, you can use the P1 output to connect an additional device to the P1 port.
In this case, be sure to use the power adapter.
If the device is connected correctly, the blue LED next to the P1 output will light up briefly every time there is data (once per second)
I can't get my dongle into Bluetooth pairing mode:
You can reset the dongle by pressing the reset button for more than 5 seconds, and then pressing it briefly once.
Afterwards you can put the dongle back into pairing mode by pressing the reset button twice again.
