Blossom offers a standard installation or a final assembly .

In both cases Blossom will always organize an inspection. In the case of final assembly, the user is responsible for all corrections in the event of rejection of the installation and for the costs of a new inspection appointment.

What if a fully approved charging station installation is already present?

If a fully approved charging station installation is already present, no additional electrical work needs to be carried out and we only need to replace the charging point, we also speak of a final assembly . In that case, we simply replace the existing charging point with our charging point. In this case, only the final assembly and the mandatory re-inspection will be charged.

Fully completed electrical work but no charging point yet.

In the event that the preparatory electrical work is provided by the customer it must fully comply with the specifications set out in the Blossom standard installation package . You can find the details of this here .

The final assessment of conformity is carried out by our technician on site. In the event that the installation is found to be compliant, we will proceed with the final assembly of the charging point. In that case, only the final assembly and the mandatory inspection will be charged.

In the event that the installation is found to be non-compliant, the customer will have to ensure that the necessary adjustments are made to make the installation compliant. A cancellation fee will be charged for the existing appointment. After the necessary adjustments have been made, a new appointment for final assembly can be made.

Excavation work and wall penetrations

If excavation work or more wall penetrations are required than included in the standard installation package, this can be provided by the customer. In that case, we will draw up a customized quote in which the work already carried out and/or materials already provided by the customer will be deducted.

The installation of electrical components is excluded from this clause.

Who will assess whether my preparations or materials meet the requirements?

The on-site technician will check whether the elements present (such as fuses, cable thickness, quality of the wiring, etc.) meet our technical and safety requirements.

In the event that the installation is found to be non-compliant, the customer will have to ensure that the necessary adjustments are made to make the installation compliant. A cancellation fee will be charged for the existing appointment. Once the necessary adjustments have been made, a new appointment for final assembly can be made.

What if I disagree with the quote?

It is very important to address any comments or disputes about the quote before you approve the quote.

Once a quote is approved, it is considered binding.

What conditions apply if I want to install a waiting tube myself?

  • The waiting tube may have a maximum of 2 bends .

  • Avoid sharp bends.

  • The waiting tube must be in 1 piece.

  • The conduit must have a minimum diameter of 50 mm .

  • The conduit may have a maximum length of 25 m .

  • There must always be a pull wire in the conduit.

  • Seal the ends to prevent dirt from entering the conduit.

What conditions apply if I want to carry out excavation work myself?

  • Minimum depth of the trench: 60cm measured from the top of the conduit to ground level.

Can Blossom dig up an energy bend?

If you want us to use an existing energy bend, it must be free and accessible . The technician will not dig up the bend himself, because the exact location is not always known with certainty.

What is the cable thickness that I should provide if I want to provide the cable from the meter cupboard to the location of the charger myself?

If the power cable does not need to be buried, you can use a YMVK installation cable.

If the power cable does need to be buried, you should use a YMVK-AS ground cable. This must always be placed in a conduit that meets the requirements.

  • For 16A and a distance up to a maximum of 50 metres between the meter cupboard and the charging station, a cable with a conductor cross-section of 4 mm² is suitable.

  • For 25A to 32A and for distances under 50m, we recommend 6 mm² .

  • For a distance of 50 meters or more 10 mm² is recommended.

Tip:

Always choose a 3-phase cable, even if the charging point will be connected single-phase. This will prepare you for any future expansions of your electrical installation and prevent you from having to replace the cable again later.

What are the most important points to consider during preparatory work?

  • Communicate in a timely manner : During the quotation phase, report which works you have carried out and which materials you have provided.

  • Follow our guidelines : Take into account our minimum technical and safety requirements for cable thickness, differential switches, etc.

  • Check the quote : Discuss possible adjustments and discounts in advance. After approval, the quote is binding.
