Help with setting up anomalies

Updated over a week ago

In the Blossom Fleet Dashboard, fleet managers can set a number of thresholds for reporting anomalies in charging behaviour.

These settings help you detect unusual or unexpected charging behaviour more quickly.

Important:These thresholds are used for reporting purposes only in the dashboard. They cannot block actions or prevent charging.

You can adjust these thresholds at any time. Once a change is made, the system will automatically start recalculating all charging sessions up to one year in the past. After saving the new settings, you will see the progress of this recalculation. You will receive a notification once the recalculation is complete.

Below is an explanation of each adjustable threshold, with an example to help you get started.

Allowed charging region

  • What is this?

This setting determines whether charging sessions outside a specific region should be considered anomalous. You can choose between:

    • Belgium only

    • Entire Europe

  • Why set this?

It helps to quickly identify charging sessions outside the region defined in your car policy.

  • Example:

A session in Germany will be flagged as an anomaly if you have set “Belgium only” as the charging region.

Maximum energy cost (AC charging) per session

  • What is this?

Set the maximum allowed rate per kWh (excluding VAT) for AC charging sessions (standard chargers).

  • Example:

If you set a limit of €0.70/kWh, any public charging session from €0.71/kWh will be reported as an anomaly.

Maximum energy cost (DC charging) per session

  • What is this?

Set the maximum allowed rate per kWh (excluding VAT) for DC charging sessions (fast chargers).

  • Example:

If you set the limit at €0.90/kWh, a session at a fast charger from €0.91/kWh will be flagged as anomalous.

Maximum start fee per session

  • What is this?

Some providers charge a fixed start fee per session. This setting lets you define the maximum allowed start fee (excluding VAT).

  • Example:

If you set the limit to €1.00, any session with a start fee from €1.01 will be marked as an anomaly.

Maximum time cost per session

What is this?

  • Some public charging points charge a time-based fee per minute or per hour. This threshold lets you set the maximum allowed time cost (excluding VAT).

  • Example:

If you set a limit of €4.00, any session with a time cost exceeding this amount will be reported as an anomaly.

Maximum number of DC charging sessions per month

  • What is this?

Fast chargers generally have the highest rates. To avoid employees relying primarily on fast charging, you can set the maximum number of DC fast charging sessions per employee per month before it is considered anomalous.

  • Example:

If you set the limit to 6 sessions per month, any employee with more than 6 DC sessions that month will be reported in the dashboard.

If you have any questions about how to set or interpret these thresholds, feel free to contact our support team via the chat in the Fleet Dashboard.
